Day 1
Outlander Tours to Scotland
3 Day Outlander Tours
Culross – 16th Century Village
We cross the River Forth, and the village of Culross awaits. Culross is a 16th-century village used extensively in our loved Outlander Tv Series, and as such, the village is a must-see on any Outlander Tour of Scotland. Culross is full of classic Outlander filming locations from Jacobite encampments to Geillis’s Herb garden and the Mercat Cross from season 1. Great cakes and coffee in the charming village are a must.
Falkland Village
We travel to the village of Falkland. The wonderfully historic village doubles as 1950’s Inverness and is Frank and Claire’s second honeymoon location. The ghost of Jamie appears in the picturesque village. As Claire stares from the window of Mrs Bairds B&B, a ghostly figure keeps watching her, then disappears. An Outlander plot twist ?? Stand in this exact spot where Frank confronts the Highland stranger!!
Private Outlander Tours of Scotland
Castle Leoch – Doune Castle
A marvellous Castle and having never changed from when first built by the Duke of Albany in the 1300s is a great visit for all Outlander fans. As well as being instantly recognisable as Castle Leoch from Outlander Season 1-Eps 2.
Castle Leoch Kitchen and Grounds Season 1
Doune Castle was also all the castles in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Suppose that was not enough of a claim to fame! Doune Castle is also Winterfell in Game of Thrones! Therefore, this wee castle nestled in the woods near Stirling has become a top-rated visitor attraction for Outlander Tours of Scotland and a must-see on our Scottish Highlands Outlander Tour.
The Highlands of Scotland

3 Day Outlander Tour from Edinburgh
Day 2
Outlander Scotland Tour
We leave Pitlochry relaxed and ready to travel deeper into the Scottish Highlands. This is a Jacobite country and the Highland Clans’ land, so where better to experience it than the Highland Folk Museum. The best Scottish Highlands Outlander Tour
Highland Folk Museum
In 2014 the 1700s, Highland Township was used as a filming location for ‘Outlander’ Series One. Little did we know the huge success it was going to be. The Highland Folk Museum brings to life the domestic and working conditions of earlier Highland peoples. Delve into the past and discover the real, living Highland Folk Museum.
Culloden Battlefield and Visitor Centre
Outlander is based around the Jacobite uprising of 1745 and the subsequent fortunes of many Scottish Highlanders. The battle of Culloden was the culmination of the Jacobites struggle to reinstate the exiled King James.
Scottish Highlands Outlander Tour
Culloden Moor
Claire’s knowledge of the future is crucial to the plot of Season 1 & 2. The aftermath of Culloden and the brutality experienced by the Highland families change Scotland forever. Culloden Visitor Centre is a poignant, emotive and superb visitor experience.
Clava Cairns
The neolithic burial chambers and standing stones of Clava Cairns are truly wonderful end to the day. Clava Cairns or the Prehistoric Burial Cairns of Bulnuaran of Clava are three Bronze Age cairns. A hugely significant and exceptionally well preserved prehistoric site, Clava Cairns is a fantastic example of the distant history of Highland Scotland, dating back about 4,000 years, and Diana Gabaldon’s influence on the stone at Craigh na Dun.
Craigh na Dun
Excavations had found evidence for farming on the site before any of these monuments were built. The cairns directly replaced the settlement, and it even seems possible that some of the material used to build them had been taken from demolished houses. The stones here pre-date Stone Henge and are a truly wonderful experience.
Time Travel is optional!!
Inverness Check-in The Capital of the Highlands
We arrive in Inverness, home of the Lovatt Frasers and the capital of the Highlands. A beautiful city on Scotland’s northeast coast, where the River Ness meets the Moray Firth. It’s the largest city and the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands. Its Old Town features 19th- century Inverness Cathedral, the 18th-century Inverness Castle. We are happy to make any dinner reservations you may require in lovely restaurants with river walks on your doorstep.
Check-in 17.30hrs.
Day 3
Outlander Scotland Tours – Scottish Guided Tours
Today we travel the full length of the world-famous Loch Ness!! Scotlands most famous Loch and a majestic stretch of water that’s home to ‘Nessie’ Loch Ness and the Loch Ness monster have been bringing visitors here for generations and, as a result, an iconic visitor attraction.
Urquart Castle
Although not featured in Outlander itself, Urquart is an iconic Castle with important Jacobite history and a unique setting on Loch Ness’s shores. It’s a remarkable construction offering fabulous views and, as such, a great Outlander tour stop.
The Great Glen & Ben Nevis
The Great Great’s full glory can be appreciated as we pass Loch Lochy on our way to Fort William and Ben Nevis. The ‘Ben’ as it’s known locally, is the highest mountain in Scotland and, with a backdrop of rolling Highland scenery, is a great photo stop.
Glencoe & Rannoch Moor
Glencoe, with all its bloody history and folklore, has to be Scotland most famous Glen. On our 3 Day Outlander Tour of Scotland, Glencoe is the setting for every episode’s opening credits, resulting in numerous photo opportunities and viewpoints.
Loch Lomond & Trossachs National Park
The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is the first of Scotlands National Parks and takes over 1800 square km of the Southern Highlands. Sit back and relax as we pass through lovely villages and beautiful glens. The journey South is wonderful. Passing epic mountains and lochs that truly encompass all things, Outlander. Our 3-Day Outlander Tour from Edinburgh is full of folklore and tales of Highland Clans.
We return to our drop off point after our incredible 3 Day Outlander Tour.
