Outlander Tour

Together we follow in the footsteps of Jamie and Claire on all our Outlander Tours.

Private day tours or multi-may tours uncovering Scotlands Outlander history and sites.

Scottish Guided Tours provide your very own private tour guide and transport for your group of family/friends or fellow travellers.

We explore the wonderful historical sites used as filming locations in the hit TV show.

Midhope Castle

Our private Outlander tours depart from your Hotel or specified pick up point.

Our tour starts with a visit to Lallybroch.

As we wind our way down the country lanes, following the river near Edinburgh, Midhope Castle appears.

An iconic photo opportunity and one that is instantly recognisable.

Blackness Castle

Blackness Caslte is our next stop.

An incredible fortress by the Firth of Forth and a fantastic historic visitor experience.

The “Firth of Forth” is an estuary or bay where one of Scotlands main rivers meets the North Sea.

This particular Outlander filming location was built in the 15th century to defend Scotland from attack.

In Outlander, Blackness Castle becomes the HQ of Black Jack Randall and iconic scenes from Outlander Season One were filmed here.

On our guided tour of Scotland you will enjoy exploring Blackness Castle and from the ramparts we look across the river to our next stop.

Culross 16th Century Village

We cross the River Forth and the village of Culross awaits.

Culross is a 16th century village used extensively in Outlander and as such the village is a must see on any Outlander Day Tour.

Travel back in time

The village of Culross is a genuine opportunity to travel back in time.

A 16th century Scottish trading port and fishing village.

As we wander together through the cobbled, winding streets you will recognise many different filming locations from the Outlander TV series.

At the rear of Culross Palace for example is the “Castle Leoch” herb garden where Claire is often found.

Many of the interiors of Culross Palace have featured in Outlander and you will feel very much a part of centuries past as you wander through this magnificent building.

16th century Culross is a beautiful lunch stop with quaint shops, cafes and a great local pub.

Doune Castle

Castle Leoch or Doune Caslte as it known, sits on the fringes of the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is our first stop after lunch.

Doune will be very familiar indeed.

This 14th century Scottish Castle is Castle Leoch.

A marvellous Castle and having never changed from when first built by the Duke of Albany in the 1300’s is a great visit.

As well as Castle Leoch in Outlander, Doune Castle was all the castles in Monty Python and the Holy Grail and if that was not enough of a claim to fame!

Doune Castle is also  Winterfell in Game of Thrones!

Therefore, this little Castle nestled in the woods near Stirling has become a very popular visitor attraction indeed.

Outlander Tour

Above all, our Outlander Day Tours are not only an opportunity to visit the locations used in the filming of the hit tv series but most importantly to build a bigger picture of Scottish history.

As a result, you will appreciate even more the struggles of the Nation of Scotland and why Clan Fraser & the other Highland Clans were willing to make the ultimate sacrifice.
