Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

Scottish Guided Tours — Generations of Exploring Scotland

At Scottish Guided Tours, we understand that plans can change. Our goal is to be as supportive and flexible as possible, while also recognising the time, planning and arrangements that go into preparing your private tour.

More than 60 days before your tour

You are welcome to cancel, and we’ll refund your deposit minus a small administrative fee to cover the planning work and arrangements already completed. We keep this fee fair and transparent.

Between 60 and 40 days before your tour

Your deposit becomes non-refundable, as guides, vehicles and suppliers have already been confirmed.
If we are able to resell your date, we will gladly offer a goodwill credit towards a future tour.

Less than 40 days before your tour

All payments become non-refundable due to the commitments made on your behalf.

Where possible, we will offer credit towards a future tour, minus any unrecoverable supplier costs. Credits are valid for 12–24 months and can be used for any private tour with us.

Rescheduling Your Tour

If your plans shift, just let us know.
We will always do our best to move your tour to new dates where availability allows.
A small rescheduling fee may apply to cover additional planning time or supplier charges.
Changes made within 40 days may be treated as a cancellation unless new dates can be secured immediately.

Helpful Notes

• Unrecoverable costs may include accommodation, ferry tickets, attraction bookings, guide overnights and other supplier arrangements.
• Credits offer flexibility and may be used on any future Scottish Guided Tour.
• We recommend travel insurance to cover unexpected changes.
• And as ever, we’re here to help — just reach out with any questions.

Need to reschedule? Just let us know! We’ll always try to accommodate new dates where possible.

What’s Included (and What’s Not)

Your private tour includes:

• A friendly, knowledgeable driver-guide

• A custom itinerary tailored to your interests

What’s not included (unless arranged in advance):

• Accommodation

• Meals and drinks

• Entry fees to attractions

Not to worry — we’re happy to help you pre-book entry tickets and make recommendations along the way.

Payments & Travel Insurance

To secure your booking, we ask for a small deposit.

The balance payment is due six weeks before your tour date.

Travel insurance isn’t included, but we strongly recommend you have a policy in place for peace of mind. It’s always better to be covered, just in case.

Privacy Matters

Your information is safe with us. We never store or share your personal or payment details with anyone.

Things Outside Our Control (Force Majeure)

While we do everything we can to make your trip run smoothly, some things are beyond our control, including:

• Extreme weather or natural disasters

• Political unrest or security issues

• Pandemics or travel restrictions

• Road closures or mechanical issues

In these rare situations, we’ll always prioritise your safety and do our best to minimise disruption — but we may not be able to accept liability.
